This week we continued with TTC
Students read "The Sweetheart of the Song Tra Bong "In The Field" "Speaking of Courage/Notes" And "The Man I Killed/ Ambush" The students answered discussion questions for these texts using CEIEI. We also started our Following Columnists assignment. The first one will be due on Sept. 20. Next week we finish Up TTC. We will have a Socratic on Tuesday, and a test on Wednesday. We will introduce our Justice/ Argument Unit on Thursday.

As this is a short week, there will NOT be a tone quiz this week. However, we will have our weekly MC Cold Read quiz as usual.
This week we will peer edit our RA essays. We will also continue to read The Things They Carried Our reading schedule for the week is below: Wednesday: "How to Tell a True War Story" and "Spin" Thursday: "On The Rainy River" Friday: "The Man I Killed" "Ambush" and "Good Form" This week students received feedback on their MLK essays and we began working on a full AP Rhetorical Analysis prompt. The essay was due on Friday.
We also looked at some critical lenses that we will use to examine works of Fiction and students were assigned the first two chapters of The Things They Carried to read and analyze. This week we reviewed and wrote a rhetorical precis and also wrote and revised a full length rhetorical analysis of MLK's "Letter from A Birmingham Jail"
We also began to use the rhetorical triangle and the LIDDS method to analyze the book Scratch Beginnings. |
